Calum Scott MacLeod, a Scottish professional cricketer, was born on November 15, of the year 1988. Since the year 2008, Calum MacLeod has competed for the national cricket team of Scotland at international tournaments like the World Cup of the year 2015 and the World Twenty20 of the year 2016. Calum MacLeod has represented Durham and Warwickshire in county cricket in England. At the 2018 ICC Awards in the month of January of the year 2019, MacLeod received the ICC Associate Player of the Year award.
Early Life
In Glasgow, MacLeod was born. Calum Scott MacLeod went to Glasgow Gaelic School’s Hillpark Secondary School at the time. Calum MacLeod’s ancestors hail from Johnshaven, which is close to Aberdeen and the Outer Hebrides island of South Uist.
Domestic Career
Graham Robertson coached MacLeod, a young cricketer who made significant strides at Drumpellier Cricket Club. Calum Scott MacLeod later moved to the Scottish National Cricket League Premier Division with Uddingston Cricket Club and played in the 2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. MacLeod secured a retainer contract with Warwickshire in the year 2006, playing Under-17s, Under-19s, and 2nd XI cricket. International Career
MacLeod, a former cricketer with Warwickshire, was released by the team in the year 2010. Calum MacLeod played for Scotland in the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40, where Calum Scott MacLeod scored 92 runs from six matches. Calum MacLeod was Scotland’s leading run-scorer in the tournament and fifth overall. In the 2012 ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier, MacLeod scored 175, the second highest score by an Associate player in a One Day International (ODI) and third highest by an Associate player in List A cricket. In the year 2018, Scotland secured the biggest win in their cricketing history with a six-run defeat to the national cricket team of England.
Calum MacLeod was selected for Scotland’s team to compete in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 2019 ICC T20 (Twenty 20) World Cup Qualifier competition. In the month of November of the following year, 2020, MacLeod was nominated for the ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Decade award. In the month of September of the year 2021, Calum MacLeod was named in Scotland’s provisional squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. MacLeod announced his retirement from international cricket on 31 October of the year 2022, a few days after Scotland faced a first-round exit.
