Former Australia bowler, Brett Lee is currently serving his six-day mandatory quarantine period in Mumbai before he joins the IPL commentary team. He recently conducted a Q and A session on Instagram in which fans asked a lot of questions related to cricket to the Australian great.
In one of the questions, Brett Lee was asked to name the most dangerous batsman in the world. To this, he took the name of Rohit Sharma and said that he is expecting big things from the Mumbai Indians’ opener.
“The most important thing for Rohit Sharma is firstly to score runs for Mumbai Indians. He has got to be a good leader but I think being a good leader is a combination of leading from the front in terms of scoring runs and hopefully the rest of the team will take care of itself.” Brett Lee earlier said on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.
As far as the IPL records are concerned, Rohit Sharma is currently the second third highest run-scorer in the history of IPL. In 188 matches, Sharma has scored 4898 runs in 188 matches at an average of 31.60.
Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in the history of IPL. He has led Mumbai to 4 IPL titles. On Sunday, he will lead Mumbai in the first match of the IPL 2020 against Chennai Super Kings. Recently, he confirmed that like the previous season, he will open for Mumbai Indians this year as well.
“I think I opened the entire tournament last year and will continue to do that even in this year,” Rohit Sharma told Hindustan Times.
