We have seen plenty of double centuries in ODIs and Tests, but the shortest format of the game hasn’t witnessed a double century yet. The task seems very difficult because 200 is considered a good score for the entire team itself, in a T20 game. However, it might not be impossible, as players like Chris Gayle and Brandon McCullum have come close. Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg feels Rohit Sharma is capable of doing such a thing.

The forever young legend was asked many questions on Twitter in a Q & A session, and one of those questions was “who do you think will be the first to make a T20 double-hundred?”

Hogg didn’t opt for a Caribbean power hitter like Chris Gayle, who has already scored a 175 in T20, or Andre Russell. Instead, he went for the Indian opener, Rohit Sharma.

Hogg justified his answer by saying that the Indian vice-skipper has a good strike rate, times the ball exceptionally well, plays proper cricketing shots, and can hit a six practically anywhere in the ground.

“Rohit Sharma at presently is the only player I think capable of it. Good strike rate, all timing, and plays cricketing shots finding six options all around the ground,” he said.

IPL or PSL? Hogg has his say

The franchise-based T20 tournaments came into the picture after Indian Premier League got enormous popularity. Australia started Big Bash League, West Indies started Caribbean Premier League, and recently Pakistan had its Pakistan Super League. Ever since then, there has been a debate on which league is better.

Hogg was also asked the same question. “Sir if u give points to cricket leagues Then how much for PSL and IPL,” tweeted a user named Muhammad Azhar.

Hogg played it in a diplomatic manner and ended the debate in a tie. He gave them equal numbers, saying that IPL has the most interest worldwide, but the PSL is also extremely prevalent as it brought the game back to the cricket crazy nation of Pakistan.

“Both 9 out of 10. The PSL has been the most prevalent of late because it has bought the game back to Pakistan. The IPL has the most interest in viewership worldwide,” said Hogg.
