Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra has praised England’s Vice-captain, Ben Stokes and also termed him as the number world one all-rounder of the current time.

His remarks came after Stokes scored his tenth century in Test cricket against West Indies on the 2nd day of the test match at Old Trafford Stadium.

“At this point of time, there is no doubt in my mind that Ben Stokes is the number one all-rounder in the world across all three formats. He has an average of 43 in Tests, 59 in ODIs over the last two years,” Aakash Chopra said on his show “Aakashvaani” on his Youtube channel.

The past year was Stokes’ best year in terms of onfield success as he played a crucial role in England’s first World Cup title and also sealed his place in England’s test team.

“He has a good bowling average across all formats as well, there is no doubt that Stokes is the number one all-rounder in the world across all formats,” Chopra added.

Stokes even led England during the first test against West Indies in the absence of the regular Test skipper Joe Root and in the second test he scored 176 runs off 356 balls in the first innings.

Chopra highlighted how Stokes has emerged as the match-winner for England across all the three formats of the game.  Stokes has come a long way as a premium allrounder and probably as one of the best allrounders of the world right now.
