Pakistan batting sensation, Haider Ali is excited that he is selected in Pakistan squad for the three-match T20 series against England. He said that every player who plays professional cricket wants to play for their country and it will be a dream come true moment for me when he will represent the country in green colours against England.

He made headlines over the course of 2019-20 season with his tremendous performance in domestic as well as in recently concluded ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020.

This is a dream come true for me. Every young cricketer wishes to be here. This is my first tour though I have shared the dressing room with established cricketers in HBL PSL 2020, being in the Pakistan dressing room is all together a different experience, ” The official website of PCB quoted Ali as saying.

Younis Khan, who is serving as the batting coach for the Pakistan national team is impressed by Ali’s work ethic and his eagerness to learn all the time.

Haider has that will and skill which turn youngster into a good player. He has that spark and he is always eager to learn. I believe he is upcoming star for Pakistan and he will perform whenever he will get a chance. He is strong and his fitness is improving day-by-day. He has a bright future and the ability to play all formats for Pakistan ” Younis Khan said.

Ali scored 645 first-class runs at a batting average of 49.62 and amassed 239 runs at a staggering strike rate of 158.27 in HBL Pakistan Super League 2020. He finished as the 2nd highest run-scorer for his franchise Peshawar Zalmi. These performances paved the way for him to get picked for the senior national team.

He created a new record in the recently concluded PSL 2020, where he scored 14 sixes, which was the highest number of sixes hit by any Zalmi batsman in the fifth edition of the tournament.

He also showed his grit and class against the arch-rivals India by scoring a fighting half-century in Under 19  fifty-over world Cup in 2020. Pakistan is all set to face England in three-match ODI series where the first match will be played on Friday, August 28 at Old Trafford. The visitors have lost the three-match test series against England by 1-0 which is first test series win for host against visitors in the last ten years.
