Barcelona appoints Larsson and Schreuder in the coaching staff

Barcelona FC on Friday announced the appointment of the Alfred Schreuder and Henrik Larsson in the coaching staff headed by the new coach Ronald Koeman. 

Both Larsson and Schreuder have signed a contract of two years running until June 30, 2022. The club has been lately stressing on resurrecting its First team after a dry run in the La Liga, followed by a humiliating defeat against Bayern Munich 8-2. 

“FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Alfred Schreuder and Henrik Larsson for their incorporation into the coaching staff, headed by new coach Ronald Koeman. Both have signed on contracts through to June 30, 2022,” the club said in a statement.

The duo played have had their personal accolades on the pitch during their playing years especially Larsson winning two La Liga titles and the Champions League with Barcelona between 2004-2006. On the other hand, Schreuder has immense experience in coaching in the Netherlands. Furthermore, he has also served as an assistant at Vitesse, Twente and Ajax. In fact, during his tenure at Ajax, he also helped them qualify for the Champions League semifinals. 

Larsson reunites with his team Barcelona but as an assisting coach of the side alongside Schreuder. The club also issued a statement saying that they got experts in pieces. 

On Wednesday, the club had announced the appointment of the Ronald Koeman by releasing a statement saying: “FC Barcelona and Ronald Koeman have reached an agreement for the Dutchman to take over as the first-team coach until 30 June 2022,”
