"Babar is in the same league with Sachin" Wasim Akram statement irked so many Indian Fans on Social Media

In the midst of the cricketing world’s tumultuous atmosphere, where India celebrates a resounding series victory against England and young talents seize the spotlight, contrasts emerge. While Indian cricket ascends to greater heights, Pakistan’s cricketing landscape anticipates its usual ebb.

Recently, a statement made by Pakistani cricket legend Wasim Akram sparked a social media storm, particularly among Indian fans. Akram’s appraisal of Babar Azam as a superior batsman to Sachin Tendulkar triggered heated debates across platforms.

“Without a doubt, Babar is among the top three batters in the world at the moment,” Akram asserted during a television appearance. “Alongside Tendulkar and Lara, he occupies a pedestal that few can match. Their ability to consistently play attacking shots, even to good deliveries, poses a challenge for technically adept bowlers.”

However, reactions weren’t confined to India alone. Within Pakistan, cricket experts like Wasay Habib voiced dissent. “It’s ludicrous! First, they compared Babar to Kohli, and now they’re mentioning Tendulkar. Have they ever seen Tendulkar play? As a cricket enthusiast, it’s disheartening, and I refuse to entertain such nonsensical comparisons,” lamented Habib.

This isn’t the first instance of Pakistani cricketers making controversial statements on national television. Such episodes have become routine, prompting critics to shrug them off as just another day at the office for the Pakistani cricket fraternity.

Currently these two teams are engaged in two different cricketing event, where Indian team is playing last Test match against England and Pakistan team is currently engaged in PSL(Pakistan Super League).
Indian cricketers will play IPL post this series and ideally all 10 teams will be expected to put up top class show, to emerge victorious for the prestigious title.
Talking about the current series, Virat Kohli is not part of entire five match series and his absence was felt so ideally fans will be excited to see his comeback in IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore where he enjoys massive fan following.
