The match between Salem Spartans and Dindigul Dragons was certainly one of the best game of TNPL 2023. Both teams went on to perform well. But DD was certainly a much better team. The main pillar of the DD’s performance was Baba Indrajith.
Indrajith went on to score a wonderful 83 runs, only on 50 balls. This was truly a magnificent performance. He scored almost half of the team’s score. This is nothing less than, one of the best inning of the tournament. This clearly proves that the batting of DD is as strong as any other team in the tournament.
The situation of the match before Indrajith came out to bat
There is no doubt that the target set by the Spartans was certainly a decent total. To put pressure on the opposition it was necessary for the bowlers of the SS to break the opening partnership as soon as possible. That even happened when Shivam Singh got out at the score of only 8 runs. The score was only 11/1. That is when it looked like SS has won half of the match.
Indrajith comes out to bat
Soon, Indrajith was at the crease. There is no doubt about the fact he was under a lot of pressure. He really needed to build up a strong partnership with Khumar. Against all odds, he even went on to do that. They both went on to have a partnership of 93 runs. That was certainly a great partnership to put the team in a winning position. Due to that, it became easy for the team to win the match.
Indrajith’s performance
Indrajith got 83 runs on only on 50balls. That was certainly a great inning. He went on to score 9 fours and 3 sixes. That means on almost every fourth ball he was getting a boundary. This has moved DD to the 2nd position on the table.
