Australia’s Big show Glenn Maxwell opens up on his leg injury and expectations for IPL 16!

Melbourne-born Australian explosive Batter Glenn Maxwell will be looking to prove a point on his return to the Indian Premier League after a successful time with his national side against India in a 3-match ODI series. The Baggy greens clinched the series from falling behind to win 2-1.

However, Glenn Maxwell was not involved in the 2nd and 3rd ODI and only played in 1st ODI loss at Wankhede where he got out for 7 runs. But with Australia winning the ODI series, Maxwell will have momentum on his side. He was out due to a Left fibula injury in November and missed out all the action for 2 months.

IPL will provide him a good chance to get constant game time and he will also hope to rise up on the occasion and the starts he gets. He was a part of the Australian team which hosted the T20 World cup last year and exited the 2022 edition from the Super 12 itself.

In a recent Twitter post, the batter opened up about his leg and injury via RCB’s twitter handle. After a series of surgeries, Maxwell took a lengthy recovery time and it will take a few more months said the batter. Regardless, Maxwell’s determination must receive full numbers as he is keen on bringing the heat in IPL season 16.

“The leg’s okay. It’s going to be a number of months before I’m 100 per cent. Hopefully it’s good enough to get through the tournament and still do the job.” – said Maxwell.

This year in the IPL we will get to see new rules unfold like the Impact Player, playing XI announcement after the toss, DRS on No balls & wides. And after 2 seasons, teams will get the support of their home ground and Maxi is rocked up to play in front of home support.

“Finally getting back after a couple of years (of playing inside bio-bubbles). It’s pretty exciting and I’m pretty pumped to play in front of our home fans.”

RCB will play their opening game against Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy stadium on April 2nd.
