Arturo Vidal sues ‘unfair’ Barcelona over unpaid bonus

FC Barcelona find themselves in even more legal troubles as current midfielder Arturo Vidal has joined Neymar in suing the club over unpaid bonuses from last season.

Vidal and his representatives have accused the Catalans of being “UNFAIR” amid claims he is owed up to Euros 2.4 million in unpaid bonuses.

According to the Spanish newspaper ABC, Vidal has filed a complaint against his club to La Liga and the Spanish Footballers’ Association.

Out of the 4.1 million euros that Arturo is owed, It is alleged that Barcelona has paid Vidal only 1.7 million euros.

However, Barca believe that the lawsuit comes with ulterior motives. Mundo Deportivo report that the club believes that Vidal is doing this as a way to force a move to another club.

Vidal is strongly linked with a January return to Serie A and had recently said that he would have to seek greener pastures elsewhere if not being consistently played by Barcelona.

According to Chilean radio station ADN, when asked about the lawsuit, he said: “I’m not in charge of that – that’s why I have my agent, my lawyer, who takes care of the awards and stuff,”

“It seems unfair to me if money is missing, but it is an issue that is alien to what we are experiencing today.”

Speaking about his future earlier this week, Vidal refused to rule out a move to Inter in the upcoming transfer window. However, the former Bayern Munich player is not thinking about his future whilst being in his native Chile for a Christmas break.

“It’s a subject I said when I arrived here that I’ll talk about it when I’m there [in Spain],” he said.

“I’m on holiday and I just want to talk about what’s going on here.”

Vidal began his career with Colo-Colo and has so far represented Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have loaned out Carles Alena who had direct competition with the Chilean for a place in the Barcelona squad. With Alena’s departure, Arturo is expected to play more for Barcelona unless there is a dramatic fallout between him and his club Barcelona.
