It is widely hailed that behind every successful man, there is a woman. There is no domain that remains untouched from the impact of this saying. Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, the modern-day legend of the game, has been a prime example of the role played by his wife, popular actress-cum-entrepreneur Anushka Sharma, in transforming his persona in the recent years.

From being a chubby typical Punjabi lad during his formative days to becoming a ‘vegetarian and gluten-free’ player, he has single handedly managed to revolutionise the way cricket is played today in the country. While he has gone through many career defining moments until today, according to him, the profound and unilaterally picked ‘life-changing’ moment was when he met his now partner Anushka Sharma several years ago. The revelation was made during a 2023 RCB Podcast shot between him and the host Danish Sait.

Ever-since they have been together, the couple has hogged constant limelight due to the curiosity around their lives and have often found themselves stirred in controversies, emerging stronger at every instance. They have been married for 8 years now and since their marriage, the public has witnessed a tremendous change in the personality and temper of the Indian cricketer.

Their banter and leg-pulling are often visible to the audience, while his public proclamations of affection for her also create enough mushy moments. Kohli himself has admitted in many of his interviews that after his marriage with Anushka, he has found more calmness and looks at things from a new perspective.

The cricketer in a T20 World Cup press conference of 2016 admitted that he is not the kind of person, who prays and worships deities. His line ‘Do I look like the pooja-path types’ went viral and became a subject of endless memes soon after.
In the recent years, the power-couple have visited many religious temple sites, with its inception dated to the visit to Neem Karoli Baba’s Kainchi Dham Ashram in Uttarakhand.
From his on-field animated behaviour to his off-field chilled out persona, Virat’s transformation speaks volumes of the positive impact a balanced and stable partner can generate.

The common public is considerably impressed with the right kind of impact that Anushka has created on Virat’s life, terming them as one of the most sought-after couples of modern days. It is safe to say, as a Kohli fan, that ‘a man with dreams needs a woman with vision’.
