Anisa Mohammed Biography : Anisa Mohammed is a West Indian cricketer who represents West Indies in international cricket. She is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler. She was the member of the World Cup-winning squad of West Indies in 2016 T20 World Cup.

She has been also included in the West Indies Women cricket squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020.

Anisa Mohammed was born on August 7, 1988, in Maraj Hill, Coalmine, Sangre Grande, Trinidad, and Tobago. She used to play cricket with her twin sister Alisa. She completed her education from the Sangre Grande Hindu School, the SWAHA Hindu College and the School of Continuing Studies, Trinidad and Tobago. She got the call-up from Trinidad and Tobago women’s national cricket team.

Anisa Mohammed made her WODI debut for West Indies in 2003 IWCC Trophy against Japan. She was again included for the international tour of India and Pakistan in 2003–04. She took 2/17 in her fourth ODI against Pakistan. She also played one match for the West Indies in the 2005 Women’s Cricket World Cup against Ireland.

Anisa Mohammed Professional Life:

In June 2008, the West Indies toured Europe and they played their first Twenty20 International match, where they defeated Ireland by 75 runs. Against Netherlands, she took 4/20 and declared the player of the match award.

She was also included in the 2009 Women’s Cricket World Cup in Australia and she took four wickets in the tournament. She got her first 5-wickets haul against South Africa at the Newlands Cricket Ground. She was the 3rd player to take a five-wicket haul in women’s Twenty20 International cricket.

In 2010, Anisa Mohammed received her first player of the match in the format. She was also named captain in place of Merissa Aguilleira against Sri Lanka. She captained the side again in the final match of the T20I series and she took four wickets for nine runs. She also become the only player to take consecutive four-wicket hauls in women’s T20Is.

In the 2010 World Twenty20 event, Mohammed took 2/9 against England and 3/17 against Australia. Her team reached into the semifinal and lost against New Zealand. In the 2010 ICC Women’s Cricket Challenge, she was also in good form. In January 2011, Anisa Mohammed was the West Indies leading wicket-taking in the ODI series against India with eight scalps.

The August–September 2011, Pakistan toured West Indies and in the opening game of the ODI series, Anisa Mohammed took 5/5 and become the second West Indian bowler to take five-wicket hauls in a women’s ODI match. She again picked five-wicket haul against Pakistan with taking 5/7. She took 14 wickets in the series at an average of just 3.57 and she was awarded as the player of the series.

In 2011 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Bangladesh, Anisa Mohammed delivered her best performance in the final against Pakistan where she took 7 wickets for 14 runs. It was the best bowling figure in the history of women’s ODI cricket. She picked 37 ODI wickets in 2011 – the most in a calendar year.

In 2019, she produced 5-wickets haul against India to win the match from the jaws of the defeat. In January 2020, she was included in West Indies’ squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
