Dominican cricket player Alick Athanaze was born on December 7th, 1998. Alick made his List A debut for the West Indies Under-19s in the Regional Super 50 during the 2016–17 campaign on January 25, 2017.

Domestic Career
Alick Athanaze was selected for the West Indies team for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in November 2017. The International Cricket Council (ICC) designated Athanaze the team’s rising star after the West Indies’ performances in the competition. Athanaze finished the championship as the competition’s best run-scorer with 418 runs, becoming the second batter for the West Indies to reach two centuries in one tournament.
Athanaze was selected for the Cricket West Indies B Team roster for the inaugural Global T20 Canada competition in June 2018. Alick Athanaze made his Windward Islands first-class debut on December 6 of the year 2018 during the regional four-day competition for the 2018–19 campaign. Athanaze was included in the Windward Islands team for the 2019–20 Regional Super 50 competition in the month of October of the year 2019. With 647 runs in 10 innings, Athanaze was the top run scorer in the 2022–23 West Indies Championship.
International Career
Athanaze was included in the West Indies One Day International (ODI) squad for the series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the month of May of the year 2023. On June 9, 2023, during the third One Day International of the series, he played his first ODI. With 65 runs, Athanaze set a new record for the fastest ODI half-century on debut.
