Ajay Singh is an Indian Weightlifter who was born on the 17th of April 1997 and will be competing in the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022

Ajay Singh Weightlifter Professional Life:

Before weightlifting, Ajay Singh tried his luck in many sports like 20km race walking and high jump but his coaches at the army sports institute insisted he tries weightlifting as his skill is more suitable for weightlifting and advanced him to take weightlifting as a professional career choice.

Ajay Singh won his first gold medal at the Senior Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in 2016. In the 2017 Junior Weightlifting Championship, Ajay Singh clinched the bronze medal held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Currently, Ajay is employed by the Army and trains at the Army Sports Institute in Pune, Maharashtra.

Indian Weightlifter Ajay Singh is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme.

Ajay Singh Weightlifter Commonwealth Games 2022:

Indian Weightlifter Ajay Singh claimed India’s third gold in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship by winning the men’s 81 kg weight category.

On winning the gold medal, Ajay Singh lifted a total of 322 kg and also set a national record of 147kg snatch.

Ajay Singh also became the third Indian weightlifter to directly qualify for Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
