Zim Afro T10: Nandre Burger Star in Harare Hurricanes vs Joburg Buffaloes Match
Nandre Burger starred with the ball as the Harare Hurricanes held on to win a thrilling match by 2 runs against the Joburg Buffaloes in the Zim Afro T10 on Monday.

Burger took 3 wickets for 12 runs from his two overs, including the key scalp of Milton Shumba, as the Buffaloes were restricted to 104 for 7 in their 10 overs.
The Hurricanes however succeeded in defending their target of 106 by 2 runs and won the match. Burger’s performance was complemented by Chris Mpofu and Brandon Mavuta who both took 2 wickets each.
Burger was the pick of the bowlers for the Hurricanes, bowling with pace and accuracy to pick up three important wickets. He got the breakthrough in the very over of the inning when he dismissed opener Milton Shumba for a duck.
Burger then struck again in the ninth over, when he bowled Wesley Madhevere for 4. Madhevere had been looking to attack, but he was caught off Burger’s bowling.
Burger’s third wicket came in the same over, when he dismissed Matthew Noor Ahmad on the very next delivery. Ahmad walked off the ground for 0.
The Buffaloes were in a good position at 83 for 6 in the ninth over, but they lost quick wickets in the final over to lose the match by 2 runs.
Ravi Bopara was the top scorer for the Hurricanes, hitting 39 off 19 balls. He struck 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Smeed also made a valuable contribution, scoring 21 off 13 balls.
The win was the Hurricanes’ major in the Zim Afro T10.
The Buffaloes will be disappointed with their loss, but they will take confidence from the fact that they were in a good position to win the match. They will need to improve their bowling in the next match if they want to challenge for the title.
