Ishan Kishan has been chosen by the All-India Senior Selection Committee to take KL Rahul’s slot. The team’s two wicketkeepers are Kishan and KS Bharat.
Three standby players, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mukesh Kumar, and Suryakumar Yadav, have been added to the roster by BCCI due to additional injury worries in the team. The availability of two crucial pacers, Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav, is doubtful, according to the Indian Cricket Board.
While bowling in the nets, Jaydev Unadkat tripped over the side rope and hurt his left shoulder. The left-arm fast bowler is now receiving strength and shoulder rehab treatments at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru after requesting a professional consultation. His participation in the WTC final would be decided at a later time, according to the BCCI announcement.
“On April 26, during Match 36 of the TATA IPL 2023 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Umesh Yadav suffered a mild left hamstring injury. The fast bowler has begun low-intensity bowling as part of his rehabilitation process while being looked after by the KKR Medical Team at the moment. The BCCI Medical Team is in constant communication with the KKR Medical Team and is keeping a close eye on Umesh’s development.
