Women’s Asia Cup 2023: Check ACC Emerging Tournament’s Schedule and Other Details!

In a recent development, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) alongside the Cricket board of Hong Kong have come together to announce the inaugural edition of the ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023. Sources close to ACC confirmed the news yesterday and we also have entire schedule in hand.

The Women’s Asia Cup 2023 will get underway at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground from 10th June onwards. It will be an 11-day tournament which will see 8 teams battle it out for the first ever ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023.

5 out of the 8 teams who will participate in the tournament are full member nations. India, Pakistan, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UAE and Thailand will feature in the inaugural edition. The proposal could turn out to become a massive asset in terms of improving Women’s cricket in the Asian region.

The 5 full member nations will reportedly field either their U-23 team or the A team. Sri-lanka, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Thailand will play with their A team. The remaining three teams namely, Hong Kong, UAE and Malaysia will play with their full team.

Asian Cricket Council’s president Jay Shah spoke about the inaugural Women’s Asia Cup 2023 and its vision.

The Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in Hong Kong is a great platform for young women cricketers to compete and grow, and we are committed to developing women’s cricket in Asia to ensure a bright future for the sport.” – Jay Shah wrote. 

Women’s Asia Cup 2023 Groups

All the 8 teams taking part in ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023 will be divided into 2 groups of 4 teams each. The top 2 teams from Group A and B will qualify for the Semi-finals.

Group A: India A, Pakistan A, Thailand A, Hong Kong

Group B: Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, Malaysia, UAE
