Will Neymar Jr feature against Mumbai City when Al-Hilal visit DY Patil Stadium for ACL Group match on November 6?

Neymar Jr

Brazil sensation Neymar Jr recently moved to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal on a multi million dollar deal, making him the most expensive Footballer in terms of combined transfer fees. However a few months since joining, he could be out of action for a while as he picked up a concerning injury during Brazil’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay.

La Selecao crossed borders to go head to head against an Uruguayn host that looked less likely to win (at least on paper). But the hosts produced an overall good performance both defense wise and attack wise, offering Brazil only 2 shots but none on target.

It were the visitors who kept the giant share of possession, 62-38% and made 530 passes only for a free kick to be their only real chance which crashed into the cross bar. Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez gave Uruguay the lead in the 42nd minute but just a few minutes later Neymar Jr appeared to clip his ACL after a challenge from Uruguay number 7 Nicolas De La Cruz.

It was in the 46th minute when this happened with the former PSG and Barcelona forward crashing down in visible pain and tears while holding his left leg. The 31-year-old required medical attention and was later stretched off the pitch at the Centenario stadium.

While Neymar was carried off the pitch, people at the Brazil bench, Saudi Arabia and India got worried. His employers at Saudi, Al-Hilal would not want or even think of their star signing facing time in the sidelines. And his fans in India who were rallying to see him on November 6th at DY Patil Stadium will definitely pray for the Brazilian to get well in time.

Neymar Jr was seen walking with a crutch as he posed for a picture with one of his many toddler fans. At the moment, it remains unclear as to how long it will take for him to return. Brazil’s national team Doctor Rodrigo Lasmar stated that the next 48 hours are going to be key for understanding the severity.
