Will Mitchell Marsh be fit before the T20 World Cup 2024?

Australian cricket team all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is expected to be fully fit before the start of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. This multinational tournament is going to start from June 2 under the joint hosting of the USA and West Indies.

Recently Cricket Australia (CA) has announced its 15-member team for this tournament. The board has handed over the command of this team to Mitchell Marsh. However, at present Mitchell Marsh is injured. Due to this, he has also been ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2024. He was last seen playing for Delhi Capitals on 3 April.

Mitchell Marsh has given a big update about his Injury

Australian team captain Mitchell Marsh has given a response for the T20 World Cup 2024. He has given an important update regarding his fitness as well. According to Mitchell Marsh, he is not fit at the moment but there is still time for the World Cup and he will be fit by then.

Marsh has revealed how much time it may take for him to get fit. Marsh said, ‘if we have to play the match tomorrow, I will not be able to play. It will still take a few weeks for me to be completely fit.’ Marsh said-

The timing is completely perfect. If there is no major shock then I will be on the plane for the T20 World Cup. I am proud to captain the Australian team. Very rarely do you get a chance to captain Australia and lead the team in the T20 World Cup. The good thing about our team is that many leaders are present in the team. I am always in touch with Pat Cummins.

Marsh also commented on Australian team selection

Talking about team selection for T20 world cup 2024, Marsh said-

Whenever a World Cup team is selected, there are only 15 players. Because of this some players have to be out of the team, but I think the team we have selected is really very good. Our team has a lot of talent, a lot of experience. It brings enthusiasm in the team.

Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of IPL 2024 due to injury

Marsh was ruled out of IPL 2024 due to a hamstring injury. He played 4 matches for Delhi Capitals before getting injured but his performance was average. Since he is going to captain the Australian team in the T20 World Cup, Cricket Australia, as a precaution, called him back after the injury.

Mitchell Marsh had left for Perth from Delhi with Australian cricket team physiotherapist Nick Jones on April 12 after the injury. After this, his team Delhi in IPL stated that now he will not be able to participate in the remaining season of IPL.
