Why are Cricketers Not Asked on #Me Too Movement: Deepika Padukone

In the last 4 years, the #MeToo movement has spread like a fire in the jungle in India, assassinating the character of some white-collar celebrities. The notable personalities from different fields shared their #Me Too stories on social media with the likes of Kangana Ranaut, Tanushree Dutta, Sona Mohapatra, Kubbra Sait, Mandana Karimi, Pooja Mishra, etc.

Last year veteran actor Nana Patekar was accused of sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta, since then many celebrities have come up with their stories. Recently, when Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone was asked about #Me Too Movement, she not only ducked the question but pointed the gun towards the cricketers.

According to Pinkvila, when the Padmavat fame actress was asked about her take on #Me Too Movement. She didn’t reply but targeted the question towards cricketers.

She replied that why are cricketers never asked such questions on #Me Too Movement. She never saw any cricketer speaking about Me Too, then why is the actor asked the same question again and again.

She said that sexual harassment exists in every industry, not only Bollywood. She accepted that she is not in a place to expose her views about Me Too, but said that these issues should be taken care of.

Eminent personalities like Anu Mallik, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher, Bhushan Kumar were a few other names which have come out during the #MeToo movement.

Looking at the work front, Deepika is going great guns and is busy finishing multiple projects. She has just finished Chhapaak based on acid survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Then, she is waiting to work on ambitious project 83, based on 1983 world cup victory. The movie is set to release on April 2020.

This will be the fifth occasion when Deepika will be sharing the screen with her husband Ranveer Singh on the silver screen.
