When does the new 2023/24 English Premier League season start?

Premier League 2023/24

Only a few weeks remain until English football kicks off for the Premier League 2023/24 season. 6 days after the curtain raiser Community Sheild match at Wembley, reigning champions Manchester City will visit Turf Moor for the opening game of Match Day 1. On August 6, FA Cup and EPL winners Manchester City will lock horns with last year’s PL runners-up Arsenal before their trip to Burnley on 12 August.

Following a hectic 2022/23 season which also saw the FIFA World Cup take place in the middle of the season, Premier League is back to its normal scheduling. The League starts from August 12 and concludes on May 19th with Chelsea and Bournemouth playing the final fixture of Match Day 34.

This year’s scheduling is definitely a good news for the Players and managers as they will get enough time to regroup and recharge for consistent performances. During the festive period of Christmas and New Years, there will no 2-round matches within 48-hours to let teams enjoy and reset before the 2nd half of the season resumes.

There will also be a break for players in 2023/24 season during the weekends of 13-20 January as it will provide a lot of time for every manager to plot their next move according to their situation at that moment. Premier League have cautiously planned the starting date of 12 August with players getting more than 70-days off.

Scheduling of Premier League 2023/24 has been done in a great way as teams participate in multiple competitions simultaneously.
