Western Province beat Mpumalanga by 25 runs in CSA T20 Challenge

Western Province won the Pool A encounter at Uplands College, White River, beating Mpumalanga by 25 runs.

The home side made 136 for 7 in their full 20 overs, with J van Heerden top‑scoring on 26 off 30 balls and M Mpongwana adding 23 off 14, while O Whitehead contributed 15.

Mpumalanga were bowled out for 111 in 17.2 overs; K Mogotsi (23), ZA Kathrada (22) and R du Toit (18) led the chase but fell short.

Thabile Hlatuka claimed two wickets for 29 runs in four overs for Western Province, and George Linde was the pick of the Mpumalanga bowlers with four for 18 in 3.2 overs.

Key breakthroughs came when Hlatuka dismissed van Heerden at 16.6 and Mpongwana at 18.3, turning the momentum in Western Province’s favour.
