Watch : Virat Kohli’s match winning knock create a Tweet interaction between Micheal Vaughan and Herchelle Gibbs!

Virat Kohli showed his true colors and displayed his ability last night at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium through an emphatic 82 off 49 deliveries to help Royal Challengers Bangalore win their opening IPL game against Mumbai Indians by 8-wickets.

There was a lot of anticipation ahead of the match as it was a battle of indivudiual players like Virat Kohli Vs Jofra Archer & Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav Vs Mohammad Siraj. Another secret battle was between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

The Delhi born batter had prevailed over MI’s bowling attack and looked like a Batter than Rohit Sharma. The former batter managed to score only 1 run off 10 balls that too in a pitch tailor made for batting. And it was all because of Tilak Verma’s quickfire 84 off 46 that MI reached a respectable total of 171 runs.

In the 2nd innings, RCB chased down the target comfortably and Kohli was the catalyst. Former Indian batter Ravi Shashtri applauded Kohli and backed him to have a great season ahead and possibly better than Indian captain Rohit Sharma himself.

Another former Cricketer joined the conversation as England’s Micheal Vaughan took to Twitter and praised the Batter. He had very positive words for the 34-year-old and said that on his best days, there is no one better in cricket than Virat Kohli.

Usually, Vaughan is known for criticizing Indian players and has also thrown lethal verbal jabs towards under performing players. And unlike his character, Vaughan chose to praise him and said – “At his best he is still the best player in the world to watch .. @imVkohli makes batting look so easy .. @RCBTweets look dangerous !!! #IPL2023.”

Vaughan had posted this right after Kohli sailed RCB through to the victory. Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs also joined the conversation and gave the Englishman a fitting response by suggesting that even when Kohli is not at his best, he is still the best overall.

“Even when he’s not at his best, there’s still nobody better currently than Virat.” – Gibbs replied.
