Watch : MS Dhoni achieve this Wicket-keeping record even after retirement! The 41-year-old overtakes Quinton De Kock!

The Chennai Super Kings registered their 4th win the Indian Premier League and replaced Gujarat Titans to take the 3rd spot. A poor run rate is what denied hem taking the first place as they have the same points as league leaders Rajasthan Royals.

In the first innings, Ravindra Jadeja had a fantastic time with the Ball picking 3 wickets by giving away 22 runs at an Economy rate of 5.50 per over. He was backed by CSK pacers Matheesha Patheerana and Maheesh Theekshana as both of them did not let the run flow go over the head. They had economy rates of 5.50 and 6.75 respectively and picked 1 wicket each.

Later on with the bat, Devon Conway scored 77 off 57 and remained on the crease until the last ball was scored. Jadeja was adjudged the man of the match but Chennai’s captain, Thala Dhoni also entered the record books even at the age of 41.

If longevity had a name Dhoni will be it. He helped CSK get rid of SRH’s most effective Batter and Captain, Aiden Markram. The South-African was out after Dhoni did what he does the best. That particular catch was his record 208th Catch in the shortest format of the game.

If we talk about the other players on the list then LSG’s Quinton De Kock has taken 207 catches in his career, but as we all can see, he is unable to break through to the starting XI due to Kyle Mayers’ sublime form. After De Kock, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Dinesh Karthik who represented 6 IPL franchises has 205 catches.

Former Pakistan Wicket-Keeper Kamran Akmal is 4th with 172 catches and former West Indies International Denesh Ramdin is fifth with 150 catches.

Meanwhile Chennai Super Kings will now take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match away at Eden Gardens.
