Watch : Lionel Messi apologize to PSG Fans and management for unapproved trip to Saudi Arabia!

7-time Ballon D’or winner Lionel Messi was handed with a 2-week suspension a couple of days ago by his current employers and soon to be French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain. The club management reported that Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia with his family was unauthorized and PSG made it clear that regardless of the size of a player, rules are equal for everyone.

The 2-week suspension will also see PSG cut off the weekly wages and he will miss games against Troyes and Ajaccio. And last night as a result of the aftermath, a video of Messi surfaced on social media where he apologized to PSG Fans as well as the management board.

Messi claimed that he did not know if it will cause so much of issue as he thought they will have a day off after the match day like they usually have but it turned out to be an issue. Then he also said sorry to the fans and told everyone that he will wait for the club to take the next step.

“I had organised this trip to Saudi Arabia having cancelled it previously. This time I couldn’t cancel it. I am sorry for what I did and I wait to see what the club decides to do.”

Messi’s likelihood of staying at PSG through the current campaign, when his two-year deal with the team expires, has grown less probable as a result of the scandal. He is not expected to participate in PSG’s Ligue 1 encounter against Troyes this weekend, according to a source familiar with the disciplinary process who told AFP that he will miss “several days” of action.

He will be suspended for two weeks, according to a number of French media outlets, although AFP was unable to independently verify the reports. After their encounter against Troyes, PSG, who leads Ligue 1 by five points, will have just four more games left to play.
