Watch: Jonny Bairstow Wondered on his horrific leg injury

After fracturing his leg in three places last August, England batsman Jonny Bairstow expressed his concern of never being able to walk again. He missed some Test matches as well as his team’s victory at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022 because of the injury.

On Tuesday, Bairstow completed his recuperation from the terrible injury he suffered while playing golf. The 33-year-old was re-added to England’s team for the opening Test against Ireland before the Ashe Trophy after missing six Tests and the T20 World Cup.

The incident ended Bairstow’s stellar 2022 campaign. With 681 runs, including four centuries, and an average of 75.66 during his first summer in charge, Ben Stokes became known as the face of an intriguing new kind of cricket.

After making a comeback in competitive cricket with Yorkshire last month, a recall was issued. But there was some concern for the person in question.

The months that were spent gradually rebuilding were full with worries and fears. He was frustrated during his drawn-out recuperation process since at first it was believed that he was well enough to execute his IPL contract with Punjab Kings. There were worries that life would never be the same again outside of cricket.

According to Bairstow, who was quoted by ESPNCricinfo, “you wonder whether or not you will be able to walk again, jog again, run again, or play cricket again.”

You do, in fact, think about such things. Depending on how much time you spend considering them. There are a lot of new aspects, and until you start playing again, you worry if it will still feel the same.

According to Bairstow, the injury altered his gait.
