Virat Kohli winning hearts on Internet after his ‘sprit of cricket’ gesture towards  Joe Root on the first day of Chennai Test

Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is often criticised for his aggressive nature on the field hogs limelight on the first day of Chennai Test against England.

Kohli is winning hearts on Internet for his sweet gesture towards his counterpart Joe Part who seems to be struggling with cramp in the last ball of 87th over after he smacked six on the Ashwin’s ball.

The England captain was lying on the floor and the physio was about to enter the field to help Root but before he reached, It was Kohli who helped Root with stretching Root of his right leg.

The moment was caught on the camera and was shared by Indian cricket board on their official Twitter handle who Tweeted “Sprit of Cricket at its very best”

Meanwhile Root and Sibley batted well on the first day with former still being there on 128 runs to make sure that England finish day 1 of the first Test with 263 runs at the loss of 3 wickets on board. Indian bowlers struggled on the first day of Chennai Test with Bumrah dismissing Sibley(87) in 90th Over.

It was expected that Indian bowlers will dominate English batsman on the first day but some selection including inclusion of Ishant Sharma and Shahbaaz Nadeem ahead of Mohammad Shiraj and Kuldeep Yadav didn’t go down well among fans.

However Kohli’s gesture was also shared by English cricket board on their official Twitter Handle who wrote ” In the heat of battle there is always room for Sportsmanship”
