Virat Kohli recollects an incident of 2014 with this star English Pacer in RCB Podcast season 2!

Virat Kohli is all over the news following his RCB Podcast season 2 appearance where he disclosed plenty of things about his career.

Virat Kohli was reminded of the 2014 England trip constantly until 2018, despite the accomplishments and records he set. With 134 runs scored in 10 innings, the highest knock being 39, and five single-digit scores, it had stayed the only blip in his career.

The legendary Indian batsman later acknowledged that the horrors of that tour plagued him until he finally put 2014 to rest by scoring an exhilarating 149 in the 2018 series opener in Edgbaston.

James Anderson of England, who dismissed Kohli four times and exposed the former India captain’s limitations in the format, was the campaign’s top deflator in 2014. However, four years after that tour, Kohli landed in England as a different kind of batter.

And with a little piece of luck, he managed to get his first century in England despite being briefly in danger from the fast bowler. Kohli did not turn back after his impressive 149, amassing 593 runs on the 2018 tour with two tonnes and three fifty-plus scores.

“My heart was pumping because all I could think of was the flashes of 2014. I walked in and there were about 35,000 people at the stadium and they all started booing the moment I entered the field. My heart started beating faster. They have this amazing ability to create an environment where you feel like I have got no chance here.”

“I was going to play county cricket before the 2018 series. I was a bit nervous because I thought I needed to prepare more. But then I had a neck issue in 2018 I fell ill in one of the IPL games and I could not go there because it aggravated.”
