Skipper Virat Kohli requests fans to vote Legend Sachin Tendulkar for the upcoming Laureus Sporting Moment 2000-2020
The Laureus Sporting Moment Award 2000-2020 is a foundation that commemorates 20 of the most influential and powerful moments in the sport over the last two decades. Moments that have united many in the most unique way and changing the perspective of how we see games.
The award tributes those moments that illustrate the true values of sport which are fair play, sportsmanship, humanity, overcoming adversity, dedication and the power of sport to unite us.
Fans across the world will get the opportunity to vote for their favorite of the 20 moments that will be shortlisted, comprising 3 knock-out rounds. The hierarchy consists of 20 moments, reducing to 10 and later to the top 5 moments. Voting will be conducted between 10 January and 16 February, with the winner being announced live at the Laureus World Sports Awards on Monday 17 February 2020 in Berlin
Of all the people nominated, we have our very own god of cricket nominated for the same and skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to vote for Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli tweeted, “A friend, teammate, mentor and icon. Let’s all come together and vote for Sachin paaji for the Laureus Sporting Moment 2000-2020.” The Legend ‘Carried on the Shoulders of a Nation’ implied India winning the 2011 World Cup.

Sachin Tendulkar was a part of the 2011 victory which was led by MS Dhoni in Mumbai and was carried on the shoulders of his teammates. “Tendulkar has carried the burden of the nation for 21 years; It was time we carried him.”
The Men in Blue are currently in New Zealand for a three-match ODI series with losing against New Zealand 2-0. They’ll be having their third and final game on Tuesday, 11th of February at Mount Maunganui.
