Vinesh Phogat and other Wrestlers write an open letter to Female BJP MPs for coming out in support of the protesters!

The Wrestling communities’ protest against Wrestling Federation of India’s President Brij Bushan Singh Sharan at Jantar Mantar has reached its 22nd Day as India’s top Grapplers are still awaiting for Justice. Its been more than 3 weeks since Delhi Police registered 2 FIRs against Brij Bushan Singh but follow up investigations are yet to be initiated.

On Monday morning, the Wrestlers wrote to the Female Member of Parliaments from BJP to come out and support female wrestlers in their quest to remove Brij Bushan Singh from WFI presidency. Its important to note that no political party have come in support of the protesters until now and only Farmer leaders have joined the uproar.

The open letter to female BJP MPs could also be a way to test them as Brij Bushan Singh himself is an active BJP politician who also has control over the Wrestling federation. The letter appealed the female politicians to visit Jantar Mantar and lay an helping hand in their cause.

“When you talk about the safety of women in this country and helping them fight for their dignity, then we are also your daughters and we are also fighting for the same dignity. We are writing an open letter which we will deliver by hand and by email, and we hope that our grievances will reach you and some of you come out in our support.” – the letter read.ย

The likes of Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik among other wrestlers continue to protest against Brij Bushan Singh until he is removed from office. The protesters alleged Brij Bushan of sexually harassing and mentally torturing the Female grapplers which also included a Minor.

In the last couple of days, the Protest has attracted massive support from different regions in India and Vinesh Phogat in a media interaction acknowledged the support and said the Uproar is setting a good example for Young females to stand up for what is right.

“We feel really proud. It took is a long time to speak out but we had no idea that we would receive this kind of support from our family.”ย ย
