USA register joint lowest ODI total, match finishes in just 17.2 overs

The United States of America entered into record books after registering the joint lowest ever ODI total on Wednesday. USA got bowled for just 35 runs in 12 overs against Nepal in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

 Nepal spinner Sandeep Lamichhane went through USA’s batting line up, picking up 6 wickets in 6 overs, while Sushan Bhari picked the other four wickets in his 3 overs. In reply, Nepal chased down the total in just 5.2 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. 

With this, the USA recorded a joint-lowest total in the history of ODI cricket. Zimbabwe is the other team to have bowled out with the same score. 

Canada has recorded the second-lowest total ever (36), followed by Zimbabwe (38) and Sri Lanka (43).

The 19-year old Nepal spinner has yet again exhibited a master-class performance for his side, helping them knock down the USA for just 35 runs on Wednesday.  

Having played in some of the best T20 franchise leagues, Lamichhane has become a household name in the cricketing world. Owing to his spectacular performances, Lamicchane has put Nepal cricket on the world map. For the country, he has played 10 One-Day Internationals so far, picking up 23 wickets at an average 16.3.
