Uganda squad for T20 World Cup

Uganda cricket team created history by qualifying for the T20 World Cup 2024 for the first time in the T20 World Cup history. For this, Uganda has announced its team for the World Cup. Ugandan off-spinner Frank Nsubuga is set to become the oldest cricketer to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup at the age of 43.Β 

The Uganda Cricket Association on Monday announced a 15-man squad led by Brian Masaba for the T20 World Cup to be held in the United States and West Indies from June 2.

Rizayat Ali Shah is the vice captain of the team

Riyazat Ali Shah is the vice-captain of the team. Uganda has booked their place for the T20 World Cup by finishing second behind Namibia in the regional competition of the Africa Qualifier.Β 

The team will start its campaign on June 3 against Afghanistan in Guyana. Both these teams are included in Group C along with New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and host West Indies.

Riyazat Ali Shah and Dinesh Nakrani are two notable attacking batsmen with the bat and the team also has Under 19 World Cup experience through youngster Juma Miyaji, who played in the 2022 event in the West Indies.
