UEFA Champions League 2022/23 : Victor Ohsimen eyeing for European glory this season with Napoli!

Serie A league leaders Napoli on Thursday defeated Eintracht Frankfurt in the return leg of their Round of 16 clash at the Diego Maradona Stadium at Naples  to reach the last 8 of the UEFA Champions League 2022/23 season for the first time in their history.

The Italians are experiencing an outstanding run in the Italian top-flight as they are currently miles ahead of 2nd placed Inter Milan. Luciano Spalleti’s side are 18 points clear at the top of Serie A points table and they are looking highly favorites to clinch the Serie A trophy for the third time in their history.

The last time Napoli won Serie A was way back during the 1989-90 season which was their 2nd Serie A title with the first one coming in the 1986-87 season. One of the main reasons behind their success this season has been their flawless game play and lethal forwards like Victor Ohsimen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Both of the players are currently leading the top goal scorer and top assist provider charts and are among the hottest duo in Europe this season. Ohsimen has bagged 19 goals while Kvaratskhelia has amassed 9 assists in Serie A this season.

In their Round of 16 second leg tie against Frankfurt on Wednesday, Nigerian Internation Victor Ohsimen scored twice their 3-0 win over the UEFA Europa League defending champions. The 24-year-old has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season and has also attracted attention from Elite clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United among others.

After the win against Frankfurt last night, Ohsimen expressed that winning the Quarter-finals has made him very happy and said that they have a strong chance of landing European glory under Luciano Spaletti’s management.
