‘There’s strength in loyalty, not numbers’: David Warner’s Twitter post ahead of the ENG vs AUS 4th Ashes Test

David Warner

David Warner is undoubtedly one of the greatest batsmen Australia has produced. However, in the present Ashes series, he has failed to perform well. Warner has managed to score only 141 runs, at an average of over 23. This shows that there is a lot he needs to improve in his batting for the fourth Test match. However, due to his experience and good past records, his position in the team is still fixed. In his current post on Twitter, he mentioned Loyalty over numbers. It’ll be interesting to see if he will be able to prove this through his batting or not.

Overall Test records of David Warner

David has scored over 8000 thousand runs till now in Test Cricket. Those are certainly huge numbers, and a player with so much excellence and experience, cannot be taken lightly. You can see the detailed Test statistics of David Warner below.

  • Total runs – 8247
  • Matches – 105
  • Batting average – 8,247
  • 100s/50s – 25/34
  • Top score – 335

By looking at the stats above, nobody can argue that Warner is certainly a great test batsman. However, it is important for him to perform according to his batting standards. It is a fact that Australia is ahead currently in the Ashes series, but David’s contribution is going to be important for the Australian team. That is because a good opening partnership puts a lot of pressure on the opponents, and this is where David needs to give his contribution.

Recently David Warner got a chance to captain Delhi in IPL 2023. They were not able to perform well under his captaincy. This shows that this year has not been very good for Warner, however, in the 4th Test Match he can change all of it by getting a big ton. Let’s hope for him to get a big score.
