Some memorable moments from cricketing event we recently covered where Anil Kumble was chief guest

Being a child of the 1990s, I was fascinated to be given the opportunity by Sportzcraazy to cover a cricketing event organized by ESPN Cricinfo who were celebrating their 30 years where Anil Kumble was Chief Guest. There is no point in disputing the fact that cricket is like religion in India and the players are celebrated like Idols in our country.

Anil Kumble is regarded as one of India’s greatest match-winners, and his 619 wickets in the game’s longest format prove it. The gigantic spinner was successful against every top batting team in the globe throughout his playing days.

Recently, he had a brief coaching stint with Men in Blue and then later with Punjab Kings for two seasons. This time, however, he is no longer connected to the Kings Franchise and is taking care of his business in addition to serving as an expert for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Australia on October 23, 2022, in Melbourne, and will feature archrivals India and Pakistan competing against one another.

He was asked one question why Players don’t share the same relation with media now why there is so much distance between players and media?

In response, he said, “During our playing days, we used to treat the media as one family and we always thought of them as part of one team, but now that social media has emerged, the equation has changed.”

Additionally, in the age of social media, everyone is an expert, particularly in the sport of cricket where everyone has an opinion and it is challenging to stick to one person’s stance.

Let me share some special photos, one of which shows the cricket match ball that the legendary Anil Kumble signed for me. I also had the chance to take a photo with Ronak Kapoor, an anchor for Espn Cricinfo. Here is the list of images of that cricketing event in the below format.
