Sneha Deepthi is a Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh born cricketer who plays for Indian national team. She mainly operates as a right-hand Batsman and bowls Right arm off-break. Deepthi was not fond of cricket during her childhood and when she was aged 8, she generated an interest for the game after playing gully cricket with her father and brother.
Gradually, she developed an interest and started training in an academy in 2003. Sneha Deepthi was in 4th standard at the time of joining a summer camp and she left Dancing to play more and more cricket. It was all because of her father Ramakrishna that she got the initial training until 2007 and in 2008 Sneha Deepthi alongside her sister Ramya Deepika were admitted to the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA).
It took Deepthi less than a year to make positive impression to ACA Coaching staff. Her explosive and dangerous batting style saw her break into the U-19 Andhra Pradesh team by 2009 and by 2013, Sneha Deepthi’s consistency helped her debut for the Indian national team against Bangladesh at home.
But until now she has only played 2 WT20I matches for India due to her inconsistency and in 2019, she got married and gave birth to her only child. She returned playing domestic cricket in September 2021.
In a recent interview, Sneha Deepthi had opened up about her struggle to gain fitness after the birth of daughter (Kriva Philip) as she was 95 KG. She admitted that her stamina and endurance levels went down but Sneha thinks that her husband helped her get back to cricketing ways.
