The captain of Gujarat Titans Shubman Gill has grabbed a landmark against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024 and he has taken over senior player Virat Kohli. Gill has now become a part of the 3000-run club of IPL and with this achievement he has become the youngest batsman to do so.
Shubman Gill had only 27 runs deficit for completing his 3000 runs before the match against Rajasthan Royals and he completed the achievement during the eighth over of Gujarat Titans innings. Gill smashed this record at the age of 24 years 215 days and broke Virat Kohli’s record. Kohli accumulated 3000 runs in the IPL by the age of 26 years and 186 days.
If we take a look at the list of IPL players who scored 3000 runs at the highest age, Sanju Samson is at the third position. Samson had accomplished this feat in 26 years and 320 days. However, Suresh Raina had achieved the figure of 3000 runs in IPL as young as 27 years 161 days which was later followed by Rohit Sharma achieving the figure of the same runs in IPL at the age of 27 years 343 days.

Shubman Gill was the joint fourth quickest player in terms of innings when he hit 3000 runs in his 94th IPL innings of his IPL career. He finished as equal to David Warner and Faf du Plessis. And both of them crossed their 3K-run milestone in their 94th innings. However, the quickest in this regard was Chris Gayle, who only needed 75 innings to register 3000 runs, which is also a record. At second and third place are KL Rahul with 80 innings and Jos Buttler with 85 innings respectively.
