He took four wickets for 21 runs in 9 overs to help Bangladesh bowl Afghanistan out for 126 runs. Islam’s performance was a major factor in Bangladesh’s victory. It was also a timely boost for the team as they prepare for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup later this year.

The combined efforts of Liton Das, along with Towhid Hridoy’s 22 runs, ultimately sealed the victory for Bangladesh.

Afghanistan’s Batting Collapses as Bangladesh Dominates with Shoriful Islam’s Four-Wicket Haul

Afghanistan’s batting struggled to gain momentum, and team Afghanistan was dismissed for an inadequate 126 runs in 45.2 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai appeared as the sole scorer for Afghanistan with a valiant knock of 56 runs off 71 balls, including one four and three sixes. 

However, the remaining batting line-up crumbled against Bangladesh’s bowling attack with a dozen runs. Shoriful Islam was the standout performer with an impressive four-wicket haul, conceding just 21 runs in nine overs. Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam provided valuable contributions with two wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan claimed one wicket.
