The 1st Test match of the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is going on really well. Both the teams are giving good fightback to each other. However, currently, there is no doubt, that the pressure is more on Sri Lanka because Sri Lanka is 135 runs behind. The Sri Lankan team needs to ensure that they put up a good total for Pakistan, only then they’ll be able to pull out the match. However, currently, Sri Lanka is 135 runs behind because of one player, and that is Saud Shakeel. Saud Shakeel is one of the most promising Test batsmen for Pakistan. He scored a brilliant double-century to take his team further.

Contribution of Saud Shakeel
Without the contribution of Saud Shakeel, it had been completely impossible for Pakistan to be in a strong situation.

- Sri Lanka batted first, and they were bowled out for 312 runs. No doubt, Pakistan wanted to make full use of the low score given by the Sri Lankans on the board.
- However, Pakistan started losing the early wickets. The score was 67-3 when Saud Shakeel came out to bat. Nobody was expecting this young batter to handle this pressure situation. However, he went on to perform really well.
- Shakeel was falling short of partners when Agha Salman provided him the much-needed support. They both went on to make a stand of 177 runs. In that partnership, Salman contributed 83 runs on only 113 balls. After Salman got out, the score of the team was 278-6.
- However, Shakeel went on to dominate. The whole team got out on 461 runs, but Shakeel remained not out.
- Shakeel scored 208 runs, on 361 balls, and hit 19 fours.
Undoubtedly, Pakistan will expect Saud Shakeel to perform well even in the second inning. However, fans of Pakistan are going to expect innings defeat for Sri Lanka. It’ll be interesting to see the end result of the match.
