The dynamic opener had yet another opportunity to score another double-hundred in the second ODI where he got dismissed for 159 runs in the end. He then went on to play a sparkling knock of 71 from 41 balls with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes and ended the year on a high.
“What a way to finish the year. I’ll take most of that year what we did as a team and personally too. Thankful to all fans of the game for getting behind the team and supporting. Now time to get ready for the next set of duties,” he tweeted.

The dashing opener also played continuously for India throughout the year. He also captained the side in the absence of Kohli during the Bangladesh series and many more. But he will finally get an opportunity to rest as he has been rested for the forthcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, he is expected to make a return for the ODI series against Australia.
Pointing out the series against Australia, Rohit also said that an exciting year is coming up and wishes to continue his good performance with the bat.
“There’s an exciting year coming up. I understand my batting really well… In fact, even better now… But I want to play within my limits. Knowing the game plan I want to execute is very important,” he concluded.
