Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin returned back to the India Cements, and this new affiliation is viewed to be the stepping stone for Ashwin to be part of the CSK team again. This particular transfer is a high-profile transfer in this sense; it also marks Ashwin’s return to the Chennai ecosystem of cricket.
Ravichandran Ashwin to Lead CSK’s High Performance Centre
As a part of this deal, Ashwin will be inducted as head of the new Chennai Super Kings High Performance Centre in the future. As per plans this latest facility could not have been started to function before the next IPL season and the facility is aimed at nurturing young talents into cricketers.

CSK Reunion Through Auctions or Trade?
Though not official yet, playing for CSK is highly possible and probable because joining India Cements immensely boost his possibility. This is the mega-auction year for the IPL, so cheapatam cannot retain any players through trades possible in the regular season. This would imply that, in order to obtain Ashwin, CSK will have to bid for him during the auctions that are planned for later in the year.
CSK CEO, K. Viswanathan, acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding Ashwin’s return. “We can’t have control over it,” he said. “We have to wait and see if the opportunity presents itself at the auctions.”

This will indeed be a homecoming for Ashwin and the team, and he has played for CSK right from the initial IPL season until 2015. Its import performances with the team and helped to established himself at the national level as well as gained a place in the Indian national team.
Should point out that this is not the first time that Ashwin has been associated with India Cements. He represented the franchise in his initial IPL contracts but left joining them in 2016.
