Ravi Shastri heaps praises on Virat Kohli, says that no captain in the world is perfect

Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has heaped praises on Captain Virat Kohli, saying that he is improving with each passing day as a skipper. Shastri also added that the passion and energy with which Kohli plays the game is unmatched.

Both as a batsman and captain, Virat Kohli has enjoyed a good run. He led India to victory in Australia and made history when India won the Test series 2-1 for the very first time in Australia.

Even though India lost the Test series in England 4-1 and South Africa 2-1, Kohli’s captaincy was not too shoddy.  As a batsman he scored lots of runs in both the series and led the team with the kind of aggression that is needed.

In an Interview with IANS, Shastri stated that no captain in the world is perfect, while adding that Kohli has learned a lot as a skipper from different situations in the last few years.

Shastri said, “Virat is someone who is improving every day. The passion and energy with which he plays the game is unmatched. I have not seen any other captain with the same passion and energy. Tactically he is getting better and with experience he will improve more”.

“I have never seen a perfect captain. Everyone has their own strengths and weakness. A captain might have great strength in one department but lack somewhere else. Virat has learnt from different situations and the way he has taken Indian Cricket forward is remarkable”.

Shastri also said that Kohli’s passion for red-ball cricket will have a big impact not only in India but all over the world.

“When it comes to Test Cricket there is no one better than Virat Kohli to endorse the game all over the world. He loves playing Test Cricket the most that set an example for every cricketer. So as young cricketer when you see a great player like him focus so much on Test Cricket, You will want to emulate him whether you are from Australia, Sri Lankan or Pakistan.”
