Punam Raut is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian women’s national team. She is a Right-handed batter and bowls Right-arm off break. In an ODI match against Ireland on May 15, 2017, Raut and 109-pointer Deepti Sharma established a world record opening partnership of 320 runs. The men’s record in ODIs was 286 while the women’s record was 229 (held by Sarah Taylor and Caroline Atkins of England) (by Upul Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka).
Poonam Raut was a member of the Indian squad that advanced to the Women’s Cricket World Cup final before falling to England by a score of nine runs. She was included in the Test squad for India’s one-off encounter against the women’s cricket team of England in May 2021.
She will be among the players list in the auction on 13 February 2023 and hope to land a major WPL contract.
