Credit should be given to all the stakeholders who have put in a lot of effort behind the scenes to make pickleball a very popular sport in India.
Since the sport has quickly expanded, it will continue to grow in the future.
In this post, we’ll go over ten detailed guidelines for novices to follow when playing this sport:
1. Start Serve with Rally: The game begins when the player on the right side of the serve signals the start of the serve.
2. Hitting the Ball: The ball should be hit underhand forehand or backhand twist when being served or in hindsight.
3. Volley starts once the ball hits once: Yes, you read correctly. A ball will be considered “Legit” in terms of volley if it hits once on each side; if not, there will be fault at stake.
4. Service must be performed beyond the backline: It is true that during gameplay, service must be performed beyond the backline in order for it to be properly counted. To return the volley coming from the other side, the other person will wait in the opposite direction.
5. Kitchen Area (Non-Volley Zone): It should be rather obvious that volleyball is not appropriate in the Kitchen Area, also known as the Non-Volley Zone. It shall be considered “Non Legit” if the servicing, whether singles or doubles, is performed from that location.
6. Earn Points by Serving in classic Pickleball: In classic pickleball, you will earn points by playing volleyball; otherwise, no player will receive any points overall.
7. Every Pickleball set should have 11 points: Each pickleball set should have 11 points, and the team that wins 11 points in a back-to-back set wins.
8. Essential Equipment for Pickleball: Pickleball pads, balls, and sometimes a pickelball net are needed.
9. Net Configuration: The pickleball net is 34 feet high in the middle and 36 feet high on either sideline.
10. Different pickelball shots: You can use a variety of shots, such as drive, drop shots, dinks, volleys, lobs, and overheads.
