PCB approaches Emirates Cricket Board to host remainder of PSL 2021 in the UAE

The PCB has formally approached Emirates Cricket Board to host the remainder of PSL season 6 in UAE. The plan has been taken by national board to shift matches in UAE is based on the discussion with National command Operation center (NCOC), which asked the board to avoid playing in Karachi because of the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country.

As per the latest developments, PCB has canceled all the bookings of rooms which was 207 in number and they are all prepared to host matches in UAE.

PSL season 6 which was suspended in March 2021 due to the rise of cases in the bio bubble back then was suspended indefinitely after playing 14 games and will be hosting the remaining matches will be scheduled between June 2nd and June 20th, 2021.

The franchises took part in a replacement draft to plug holes in their line-ups because a number of overseas players would not be able to take part in the games on the new dates.

As Pakistan is currently going through nationwide lockdown till 15th May in order to curb the crisis of COVID-19 and lots of inbound flights in the country is also restricted but the flights from Pakistan to UAE are currently operating at a severely reduced frequency.

It seems that UAE can agree to the proposal of conducting PSL as no top-level cricket is played in the gulf region because of extremely hot conditions.
