Paris Olympics 2024: India will have its first-ever country House at the Olympic Games

Paris Olympics 2024, Olympics Games

The Paris Olympics 2024 is going to be the first time India will have its own space titled ‘India House’. Launched by Reliance Foundation in partnership with the IOA, India House has been planned as a centralized and all-embracing location for athletes and fans alike.

In the conceptualization of this India House, the Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation and an IOC member Nita Ambani could not have spelt it better. For her, the centre is regarded as both a sanctuary for Indian athletes, a platform for victories and stories sharing and, above all, a platform through which India will welcome the world.

PT Usha, the President of Indian Olympic Association remarked the India House, which is planned to be a significant attraction for Indian fans and athletes. It is also an opportunity to claim a place in the international league of sporting nations and the progress of India within the Olympics framework.

It will be constructed in the Parc de la Villette which was termed the ‘Park of Nations’ during the Games; the India House will be part of Hospitality Houses of other nations. However, there awaits a discovery of never-seen-before India. The idea of presenting India and its culture in an extremely vivid and true-to-life manner was conceived during the design of the building.

Prepare yourself for a multi-sensory journey highlighted by Indian arts and craft, cuisine and everything in between. The India House is expected to be a vision carnival, where one can taste India’s talent, which is currently simmering and waiting to boil.

A Home Away from Home for Team India

The India House goes beyond being a cultural showcase. It aspires to be a haven for Indian athletes participating in the Games. It’s a place where they can relax, unwind, and feel the support of their home nation.

This space will also be open to media and fans from all countries. Visitors can interact with sporting legends and catch key events with fellow enthusiasts. Exclusively partnered with Viacom18, the official media rights holder for the Olympics in India, the India House will host dedicated watch parties for India’s marquee sporting events.

The India House also marks a significant milestone – 100 years since India’s first official participation in the Olympic Games under the IOA in 1920. It’s a testament to the nation’s remarkable journey in the world of sports. This initiative further reflects India’s unwavering commitment to the Olympic movement and its aspirations to one day host the Games itself.

The India House logo, inspired by the intricate design of a jharokha (a traditional window with a balcony), serves as a symbolic gateway to the country’s rich tapestry. This logo, rendered in a vibrant spectrum of colors, embodies the essence of India’s diversity.

The India House represents a collaborative endeavor between the Reliance Foundation, the principal partner, and the Indian Olympic Association. This initiative aims to elevate Indian sports on the world stage and is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who visit.

So, if you’re attending the Paris Olympics 2024, be sure to include the India House on your itinerary. It promises to be an unforgettable experience, offering a window into the heart and soul of India.
