Nia Jax Biography: Savelina Fanene, popularly known by her ring name Nia Jax, is a female American professional wrestler, currently working with World Wrestling Entertainment for Raw brand. She has been recognized as one of the leading super heavyweight divas of all time. Nia Jax is a former WWE Raw Women’s Champion, who defeated “The Goddess” Alexa Bliss at ‘The Grandest Stage of them all’ Wrestlemania 34.

Fanene signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2014 and later made her debut in WWE’s developmental territory NXT in 2015 under the ring name Zada. However, she later her ring name to Nia Jax.

With several storylines and feuds in NXT, Jax joined WWE’s main roster Raw in 2016 and had her first feud with Alicia Fox, followed by Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte Flair and most importantly Alexa Bliss, whom she defeated to win her first-ever title in WWE as Raw Women’s Champion.

In 2018, Jax won a battle royal at the WWE Evolution event and earned the opportunity for a women’s championship match. At Survivor Series, Jax emerged out as sole survivor for Team Raw against Team SmackDown in women’s traditional five–on–five tag team elimination match.

Jax started her team with Tamina for a six-team Elimination Chamber to become the inaugural holders of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, however, they lost the match. Jax has suffered anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that forced her to

get sidelined from the squared circle for nine months.

EARLY LIFE

Savelina Fanene was born on May 29, 1984, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Fanene persuaded her graduation from  Palomar College in San Marcos, California, where she used to play college basketball and earned a basketball college scholarship to Palomar University. Before becoming a full-time professional wrestler, Fanene did modelling and bodybuilding as a professional.

Savelina Fanene belongs to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She hails from Samoan and German ancestry. Having a  Samoan background, She is a relative of  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, She is the daughter of  Joseph Fanene, cousin of Peter Maivia, who was the maternal grandfather of The Rock. She has two brothers also. In 2014, Fanene and The Rock’s mother Ata Maivia-Johnson met with a major accident in Clermont, Florida.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE

Fanene started her professional wrestling career in 2014 by joining World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) developmental territory NXT under the ring name Zada. She made her debut by defeating  Evie in a singles match. By that time, Zada changed her ring name to Nia Jax and started her first feud with Bayley over the NXT Women’s Championship, however, she was unsuccessful in winning the title.

Jax bagged a championship match opportunity by winning a triple threat match against  Alexa Bliss and Carmella to become the number one contender to NXT Women’s Championship.

Jax feuded with Alicia Fox, followed by Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte Flair after she made her WWE main roster on Raw in 2016.

Jax was also a part of the gauntlet match to determine a number one contender for Alexa Bliss’s Raw Women’s Championship, however, she failed to bag the earn the place after being defeated by Sasha Banks. Jax also took part in the first women’s royal rumble match but failed to bag the victory.

Nia Jax began her feud with Alexa Bliss for Raw Women’s Championship. At Wrestlemania 34, Jax defeated Bliss to capture the Raw Women’s Championship, marking the first title win of her career. At Money in the Bank, Jax lost her championship back to Bliss, after Bliss cashed her contract which she won on the same night.
