Miami Heat Point guard Goran Dragic has spoken on the season suspension after Rudy Gobert was tested positive for Coronavirus. The 33-year-old Slovenian star has also ruled out the idea of directly resuming the season from the playoffs, saying that he doesn’t want to jump straight into a playoff situation.

He also ensured to be fit even if the season resumes in the summer this year. The idea of direct playoffs wouldn’t be great at all as after a gap of more than 30 days, players will have difficulty in coping up in the postseason matches.

While speaking to The Athletic this week, the Slovenian star also told how he and his family are dealing with the ongoing situation and the NBA shutdown. He was also asked if he would rather play a few more regular-season games before the playoffs, he said he would be in a state of readiness even if the season continued but it would be difficult for a few players.

“I would rather have a few friendly games and then have the playoffs. For me personally, I’m working out. I’m running around the house and maintaining my shape. I think I’ll be in good shape. But like I said, it might be tough for guys who live in apartments, and we might need around a couple of weeks to get into shape as a group. I would rather have a couple of games and then jump into the playoffs.”

Dragic was quoted as saying to The Athletic.

Dragic is currently living in isolation with his family in Miami but he also shared that his parents were told to return to Slovenia as the Government there ordered all its citizens to get to to the country. But the family is currently living in the US with no plans of leaving.

Goran Dragic also said that he won’t be leaving Miami Heat for a while and also hopes the season to continue as soon as possible. Dragic has been a part of the Miami Heat from the last five seasons and is currently averaging 16.1 points and 5.1 assists per game this season coming off the bench.
