Mumbai City FC ropes in Ranawade, Rohlupuia for the upcoming ISL season

Mumbai City FC confirmed the signing of defender Amey Ranawade and midfielder PC Rohlupuia where Ranawade signs up for the club on one year contract and Rohlupuia has signed for four year deal with the ISL franchise.

Ranawade is a product of AIFF Academy in Goa has played for DSK Shivajians and Mohun Bagan in the I League along with two stints at fellow ISL club FC Goa.

He has also represented India at Under-17 and Under-19 levels. Rohlupuia received his training at East Bengal and performed superbly for them playing at Midfield position which earned him a place in the senior squad where he represented Kolkata based club nine times from 2018 to 2020.

“Mumbai City is a club with a model that puts its faith in young players, and I am eager to see where it can take me in my development as a football player. I’ve worked under coach Lobera in the past and I am ready to get started in this new challenge,” Ranawade was quoted as saying in a media release.

Rohlupuia, on his part, said, “This is a massive platform for a young player like me to come in and prove my worth. The project and the vision here at Mumbai City is progressive and I am confident it will help me and that I can help the team.”.

Mumbai City FC is an Indian professional club based on Mumbai, Maharastra which competes in Indian Super League where the team is jointly co-owned by City Football Group, Ranbir Kapoor and Bimal Parekh who is chartered accountant by profession. Their home venue is Mumbai Football arena with Puma being their Kit and Short Sponsors for the upcoming season of ISL.
