Mohun Bagan fined by AIFF, directed to pay dues to former coach Jamil and players

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) disciplinary committee on Sunday imposed a fine of Rs three lakh on Mohun Bagan, the top club of the I League for not paying the salaries of the four former players. Also, the committee has directed the club to pay the players’ salaries and pay fines within 15 days.

As per the order of the AIFF, “The disciplinary Committee under the chairmanship of Ushanath Banerjee directed Mohun Bagan to pay dues of four players within 30 days and pay fine of Rs. 3,00,000 within 15 days, failing which they will face Transfer Ban for forthcoming successive two windows in whatever name or under banner it plays in any AIFF tournament.”

Mohun Bagan was also ordered to clear the dues of the Kerala Blasters’ midfielder Raju Gaikwad, whom the club owes Rs 11 lakh, Darren Kaladera, club owes Rs 8 lakh 70 thousand, East Bengal’s Abhishek Ambekar (Rs 5 lakh 60 thousand) and former goalkeeper Ricardo Cardoz (Rs 7 lakh 60 thousand).

Former Mohun Bagan coach Khalid Jameel has also not been paid but the club has assured him the remaining amount which is eight lakh 20 thousand within a month. Thus Mohun Bagan has been directed by the disciplinary committee to pay the remaining Rs 8,20,000 to Jamil within a month.

The order in case of Jamil stated, “Khalid Jamil informed that in the meantime he has been paid Rs 4,00,000 with assurance of clearing balance dues within early next month. Other Players however informed that they have not been paid any amount.”

The AIFF Disciplinary Committee adjourned hearing in Nagpur for a month with the belief that Mohun Bagan complying with the order will fulfill the commitments that they have made to the players and the coaches.AIFF

The club issued an official statement in the case assuring the payments to all as the statement read, “We stand committed to fulfil the contract entered with all of them. Further, we would like to assure that the due payments would be made within the stipulated time as mentioned by AIFF disciplinary committee.”
